Jenecil's Story

Here are three photos of our precious Jenecil:  The one on the left was taken about 10 years ago after she was terribly burned and facing a dreadful, painful death.  The photo on the right was taken at her high school graduation. Jenecil was Fruit Bearers' first "major case."  In fact, it was her hopelessness that inspired the start of Fruit Bearers 10 years ago to bring the love of God to her and other helpless children--blind, deaf, crippled.

Thanks to our many faithful givers Jenecil has had a dozen surgeries that have given her a life and hope.  Braces on her teeth for the past few years has not only enabled her to chew food but given her the beautiful smile she has today. Jenecil has a wonderful, tender spirit and spends much of her free time giving back by mentoring younger children to learn about Jesus.  You can imagine the amazement she has become for her barrio (neighborhood). Not only is there now a church where she lives, a sister church has begun in a bordering area

We believe the Lord brought Jenecil and Fruit Bearers together and we are determined to stay by her side. While her family is still poor, she is now able to support herself and her family. She has a job at a large grocery store and manages a small corner store in her neighborhood as well. Thanks to a medical mission we had, we now have a way to reduce the scars on her neck that restrict her movement. The Lord has brought dozens of other children in hopeless situations and continues to do so. Looking into faces is heart breaking. Like Jenecil, they need the Love of the Lord.
